About us
Welcome to K.D.'s Language Learning Centre. We are a language academy dedicated to teaching children to communicate in a foreign language in the best and most effective way possible. We believe that this can be done by focusing on children's needs, understanding how children learn and providing them with a rich variety of language experiences.We also believe that successful learning activities are interdisciplinary requiring teaching methods with a global approach directed towards the whole child, respecting each child as an individual with different needs and ways of learning. Our philosophy could be summed up with a quote by a well known researcher in education, Judy Dunn: "If a child isn't learning in the way we are teaching, we must teach in the way the child learns".
Our centre is also unique in that we offer classes to very young children, starting at three years old. Our rationale for beginning at such an early age takes into account that when foreign language learning begins early, it can go on longer with more practice and experience, leading ultimately to greater fluency and effectiveness. Better pronunciation and comprehension of a foreign language can also be successfully attained by beginning to learn the foreign language though play at an early age which is when children are especially receptive to learning languages.
K.D.'s Language Learning Centre offers all this in a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere with dedicated teachers that know how to work together to build on the child's natural desire to learn and strive to provide their students with the best opportunities possible for learning a foreign language.
