The Centre

Kd´s Language Learning Centre has it's headquarters in a privileged zone of El Puerto de Santa Maria. The centre's facilities are familiar and pleasant which makes the learning of a foreign language more pleasant and enjoyable for our students. We will be opening a new academy in Vistahermosa commercial centre around the middle of June. You will find our new academy, KD's Language Tower on the second floor and looking out towards the Fuentebravia highway. It has easy access through an inside patio.

Camp Program

This year K.D's will be launching a new summer program directed at secondary and highschool students, between 12 and 18 years old. We will be looking for students, between 12 and 18 years old interested in experiencing the American Culture by spending three weeks in a summer camp in The Great Lakes area.

Students from the two different cultures will learn both culture and language by developing social ties and friendships with American children from the camp. This cultural experience is very enrichening on both sides.

Summer Day Camp

During the last three summers, K.D.'s Language Learning Centre has run a highly successful English immersion Summer Day program. This program consists of morning workshops of varied activities, such as cooking, arts and crafts, games and science activities. Most of the activities take place outside in the open air and are all carried out in English. Children learn to listen and communicate with their English counselors through fun, hands-on activities.

This summer Day Camp is directed towards children between the ages of four and twelve and takes place during the month of July. The camp starts at 10:00 in the morning and continues though to 14:00, Monday through Friday. Children can choose the week that they would like to attend camp.

The price is 70,00 euros a week with a 50,00 euros non-refundable deposit to reserve their place.

Academy

K.D.'s Language Learning Centre is a language academy in El Puerto de Santa María, Spain , which focuses directly on teaching foreign languages through listening, speaking, reading and writing activities. These activities often include games, songs, stories and group topic work. Emphasis is put on helping children and adults develop good listening and oral skills, which is why our teachers are all native or bilingual in the language they are teaching.

We offer both private and group classes, depending on the demand of students for that language, beginning at the age of three. Students are encouraged to take the Cambridge Exams. Lessons at our Centre are given in the afternoons and evenings from Monday though Thursday, between 16:00 and 20:30 .

Our fees include a monthly fee of 65,00 euros for two hours a week, paid at the beginning of each month.

Students are expected to bring basic writing materials to the class.

Registration for the following school year will begin on the second of May, 2008.

Welcome to K.D.'s Language Learning Centre. We are a language academy dedicated to teaching children to communicate in a foreign language in the best and most effective way possible. We believe that this can be done by focusing on children's needs, understanding how children learn and providing them with a rich variety of language experiences.

We also believe that successful learning activities are interdisciplinary requiring teaching methods with a global approach directed towards the whole child, respecting each child as an individual with different needs and ways of learning. Our philosophy could be summed up with a quote by a well known researcher in education, Judy Dunn: "If a child isn't learning in the way we are teaching, we must teach in the way the child learns".

Our centre is also unique in that we offer classes to very young children, starting at three years old. Our rationale for beginning at such an early age takes into account that when foreign language learning begins early, it can go on longer with more practice and experience, leading ultimately to greater fluency and effectiveness. Better pronunciation and comprehension of a foreign language can also be successfully attained by beginning to learn the foreign language though play at an early age which is when children are especially receptive to learning languages.

K.D.'s Language Learning Centre offers all this in a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere with dedicated teachers that know how to work together to build on the child's natural desire to learn and strive to provide their students with the best opportunities possible for learning a foreign language.
